MacEwan Athletics
EDMONTON – Home weekends bookend Griffins men's volleyball's 20-game 2026-27 regular season schedule, released Wednesday by Canada West.
It all starts Oct. 23-24 when the Winnipeg Wesmen visit the David Atkinson Gym to kick off the 51st season in MacEwan men's volleyball history.
"This is an exciting time for our program as we look ahead to the new season," said Griffins head coach Brad Poplawski. "We're thrilled about the talented recruits joining our program and the strong core of veteran players returning.
"Our student-athletes have put in tremendous work throughout the offseason, and we're excited to compete in what the best conference in Canada. We can't wait to get back on the court, test ourselves against the country's top competition, and proudly represent our university."

Tickets for the season will go on sale Aug. 5 at 10 a.m. HERE
Fans can catch all of the matches on Canada West TV Powered by BioSteel. Early bird pricing for the CWTV All-Access and Sport passes go on sale in early August.
New this season at MacEwan, on every home date, men's volleyball matches in the David Atkinson Gym will be played before women's.
Highlighting the schedule is volleyball's annual School Day game, set for Nov. 6 vs. UFV (12 p.m. men, 1:30 p.m. women). The Nov. 7 matches between the schools will also be early to coincide with MacEwan's Open House (1 p.m. men, 2:30 p.m. women).
On Nov. 20-21, men's volleyball will have the gym to themselves, hosting Manitoba (5 p.m. and 3 p.m.). That's to balance out the schedule with Regina not having a men's team and the Cougars set to visit Griffins women's volleyball on Nov. 27-28.
Cross-town rival Alberta visits the David Atkinson Gym on Jan. 29-30, while the Griffins wrap up the regular season with home matches vs. Calgary on Feb. 19-20.
The post-season begins Feb. 26-28 with the best-of-three Play-In round with quarterfinal series following March 5-7, setting up the Canada West Final Four tournament on March 12-13.
U SPORTS nationals will be hosted in Calgary by the Mount Royal University Cougars March 19-21.
