Griffins Fan Code of Conduct
MacEwan University Griffins Athletics is committed to a safe and respectful environment and game day experience that respects the rights of each guest. All fans are expected to abide by the standards of behaviour as outlined in our Fan Code of Conduct.
The Griffins fan code of conduct includes zero tolerance:
• Behavior that is unruly, disruptive, or illegal in nature;
• Intoxication or other signs of alcohol or substance impairment resulting in poor behavior;
• Foul, obscene, threatening, offensive or abusive language, gestures, or actions;
• Interference with the progress of the game, including throwing objects and/or unauthorized persons on the field of play;
• Failing to follow the instructions of events staff/personnel;
• Verbal or physical harassment or intimidation of opposing team fans;
• Smoking or vaping of any kind, except in designated areas;
• Fighting or physical violence of any type;
• Indecent exposure or the wearing of obscene or indecent clothing;
• Conduct that endangers any other person;
• Ethnic intimidation
The Griffins fan code of conduct includes a one-warning system:
• Verbal abuse of an official, player, coach, fellow fan or facility staff person.
• Possession of liquor, beer or wine in unlicensed areas.
• Unauthorized use of artificial noise makers (air horns or electronic megaphones for example), or devices that could cause distraction (laser pointers or flash photography for example).
• Unauthorized access of restricted areas (team rooms or the playing surface, for example)
• Posters or signs that include foul, obscene, threatening, offensive or abusive language will be confiscated.
• Violators of the Griff-Fans Code of Conduct will be referred to MacEwan Security Services.
