Bio
Fran Gow brings more than 30 years of coaching experience to his new role with the Griffins, mostly in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, where compiled a 724-494-87 record in 1,305 career games over 18 seasons. He is currently the AJHL's Vice-President of Hockey Operations, a position he's held since 2013. Gow was coach/GM of one of the best teams in AJHL history - the 1999-2000 Fort McMurray Oil Barons, who won a national championship (the Royal Bank Cup at the time). Gow also coached the MOB to the AJHL and Doyle Cup championships that season, and was at the helm of two other AJHL Championship teams (1996-97 Fort McMurray and 2003-04 Grande Prairie Storm). He was a four-time AJHL all-star game coach (1995, 1996, 2000 and 2004), coached the AJHL Prospects game (2007), and had roles with AJHL Selects teams at the Viking Cup in 1996 and 2006. Gow, who holds multiple High Performance 1 coaching certifications, has also worked with Hockey Alberta, most notably as a Coach Mentor in Hockey Development (2014-22), and with their Alberta Cup program (2001, 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010).
